 Factors causing eye circle:

  1. Genetic factor to blame for Eye Circle

There is reason to believe that dark eye circle runs in family. We call them carried by hereditary line. It is found that Mediterranean, Afro-American, Hispanic and Caribbean ethnic group and their descendant tends to have higher chance of getting eye circle.  The reason is due to higher pigmented melanocyte around the eye. The mainstays of treatment is by using the pigment laser.

  1. History of skin allergy & Eye Circle

All the different allergies such as the skin allergy, or the eczema can cause dark Eye Circle. It is typical of Panda eye or raccoon eye associated with allergy. Such people rubs the skin and thus the eye area causing irritation. Forceful rubbing causes a lot of damages to the underlying skin such as broken capillary, increased swelling and inflammation and release of various toxic cytokines. This cytokines repeat the vicious cycle if allergy, itching and rubbing and damage. Over a longer period, the skin acquired a rough, thickened texture and darker pigmentation.

All allergy causes vascular congestion around the eye, making worst if they rub.

All allergies other than the skin can also cause eye circle. Examples includes food allergy, asthmatic people can also trigger histamine and cytokines release. It also brought about the same vicious cycle as above. Take preventive measures and medication and thee eye circle will improve slowly.

  1. Makeup material could be irritating you & cause Eye Circle—substance allergy.

Many people think of using makeup power and cream or foundation to cover up the eye circle. If only this cosmetic does not case allergy, which would be hugely welcome by the lady. Unfortunately, some of them contain ingredient that are allergic to the skin. These irritant causes contact dermatitis. The event also brings about the vicious cycle of histamine release and itchiness, rubbing and damages to the skin and underlying structure.

  1. Darker pigmented skin & Eye Circle

A darker skin toned individual shows the color tone easily, and hence Eye Circle.

  1. Your bone structure relative to the surrounding tissue position could be to blame of Eye Circle.

The bony structure of the skull around the eye, the eye socket might be responsible for the appearance of eye circle. For those with deep tear trough under their eye, due t the light reflection and how it can create shadow on the indentation/ depression is sufficient to gives an illusion of eye circle. But in actual fact the skin pigmentation nor the vessels or blood circulation is at fault. In such a case, a simple obliteration of the tear trough by way of filler to even out the place is all that is required to treat.

This is most relevant when talking about eye bag fat that protrudes forward, and the tear trough where the cheek fat pad slides down. Corrective surgeries and fillers can alleviate the issues.

  1. Thin skin is the result of aging causing Eye Circle

A very thin skin will allows the underlying skin color be seen easily, be it reddish, or purplish or bluish causing Eye Circle. Thin skin is more transparent and allow the color to show up. 1. Veins can give you a blue tint causing Eye Circle

Over exposure to the sun automatically increases the melanin cell production and the density of the pigment melanin around the eye causing Eye Circle. In so doing, the overall complexion becomes darker but the skin around the eye are very delicate and thin, which increases pigment at rate and intensity more than the surrounding. Hence, a darker eye circle. When the body gets heated up, the blood vessels dilate with increased blood flow. The vessels will show up first due to thin skin. The skin shows a reddish glow initially. Over prolonged period when the melanin starts to build up, the color becomes darker.

The people with mostly sedentary lifestyle, the blood circulation tends to be slow and shows the dark deoxygenated blood. Vascular congestion causes more enlarged vessel and darker colored blood to be seen under the skin, the Eye Circle.
