The skin color is dependent on the pigment melanin in the melanocyte cell. Some are lighter fairer skin, other are yellow colored, still other are dark skinned or black.
Problems of skin pigmentation
When the skin color is uniform it has no problem but an issue when it is non uniform. This causes irregular discoloration or dyschromia. These coloration could be hyper or hypo pigmentation depending whether it is darker or lighter in color.
When the melanin production is increased, it cause hyperpigmentation. This may be regular and uniform in a young healthy skin. But it may be irregular in an older skin with long history of frequent and prolonged sun exposure.
